International partnership announced for ALCAS Conference Series on Life Cycle Assessment
The national peak body for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) professionals, the Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society (ALCAS), announces a partnership with the recently established Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation (FSLCI).
A global advocate for Life Cycle thinking among business leaders, policy makers and consumers, FSLCI will join ALCAS’s LCM Australia 2015, The 9th Australian Conference on Life Cycle Assessment and Life Cycle Management, on 24th and 25th November in Melbourne.
FSLCI’s Co-founder and CFOO Philip Strothmann will present his take on why the Life Cycle Community needs to enhance its collaboration and communication to successfully drive Life Cycle Innovation.
“FSLCI aims to strengthen links between decision makers in business and government and life cycle professionals in research, higher education, consultancy and industry,” says Philip. “We strive to be the global voice of the life cycle community to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable society by promoting global, systematic and effective application of Life Cycle Innovation.”
By understanding the environmental impacts and benefits over the whole life of product, companies can improve performance and identify opportunities for reducing capital and operating costs. This systematic approach to combat climate change and promote sustainability is key to achieving a low carbon economy.
Presenting new data, tools and approaches showing how to ride the wave of business opportunities that emerge from transforming to a more sustainable society, the 2015 Conference Series on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) will introduce a Building and Construction Conference AusBuildLCA and an Agriculture and Food Conference AgriFoodLCA for the first time.
